The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in Dallas, Texas. They were founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars and moved to Dallas in 1993. The Stars play in the Central Division of the Western Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL).


The team has won two Western Conference championships (1999 and 2000) and one Stanley Cup championship (1999). They have also won seven division titles and two Presidents' Trophies for the best regular-season record in the NHL.



Some notable players who have played for the Dallas Stars include Mike Modano, Brett Hull, Ed Belfour, Joe Nieuwendyk, Sergei Zubov, and Tyler Seguin. The team currently plays at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.
