Sharad Pawar is a prominent Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) political party. He was born on December 12, 1940, in Baramati, Maharashtra, India.

Pawar began his political career in the 1960s, when he joined the Indian National Congress party. He served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on three separate occasions, first from 1978 to 1980, then from 1988 to 1991, and finally from 1993 to 1995.

In 1999, Pawar left the INC to form his own political party, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The NCP is now a key ally of the Indian National Congress and has been a part of several coalition governments at the state and national level.

He has served as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and as the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
